Antique French cotton ticking fabric with a red and beige stripe. Also know in French as 'toile de matelas', it is a very hardwearing cotton twill fabric that was used for mattress covers.

This piece is in good condition, with a few holes in places, and a few marks. There are also button type holes at regular intervals, which were used to tuft the mattress.
However, there is still lots of fabric here to use for your projects. Perfect for upholstery, cushions, seat covers and other sewing projects. Hard wearing and machine washable.
