This antique French quilt has been made from a quilted Provencal skirt in a very pretty pink and blue floral print on one side and a pretty blue print on the other side.
This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the early 19th century, and is in good condition with some wear and marks on both sides.
The quilt measures 1.3m x 1.60m long (51 inches x 63inches)
The quilt is entirely hand stitched.
Use on a small bed, folded on the back of a sofa or use as a wall hanging perhaps behind a bed.
Cotton with wool filling.
This quilt has been gently hand washed.
