This kantha throw has been handmade in India from up-cycled fabric that has been overstitched in chain stitch with a suzani style pattern. Kantha quilts and throws are made from layers of fabric sewn together with a tiny running stitch known as a kantha stitch. Use them on the bed, as a sofa throw or even a wall hanging.
Size: 1.72m wide x 2.20m long (W68" x L87"). This quilt will fit a single bed and will go across a double bed/4ft6"/140cm and a 5ft UK king/US queen/160cm bed or a 6ft super king/180cm as a throw.
Heavy weight.
Each side of a vintage kantha is different. The first six photos show one side of the quilt and the last two photos show the reverse side. Vintage kanthas are a handmade product, the pattern and stitching can be irregular and patches are often added to the quilts.
