This kantha throw has been handmade in India from up-cycled fabric that has been overstitched in chain stitch with a suzani style pattern. Kantha quilts and throws are made from layers of fabric sewn together with a tiny running stitch known as a kantha stitch.
Each side of a vintage kantha is different. The first five photos show one side of the quilt and the last photo shows the reverse side. Vintage kanthas are a handmade product, the pattern and stitching can be irregular and patches are often added to the quilts.
Size: 1.52m wide x 2.15m long (W60" x L85"). This kantha quilt will fit a single bed and it will go across a double/ 4ft6in/ 140cm bed and a UK 5ft king/160cm/US queen bed as a throw.
