This pair of antique French curtains are made from fine cotton lawn, embroidered with crewel work - known in France as 'les rideaux de Cornely'. The embroidery features flowers and leaves. This pair of curtains come complete with pretty tiebacks.
Size: 1.64m wide (65 inches) x 2.4m Long (95 inches) each curtain.
These curtains date from the late 19th century. The scalloped edge runs down the centre long edge and along the bottom of each curtain. The curtains have had a rufflette curtain tape heading added.
They are in very good condition. There are a few holes but by the time the curtain is loosely gathered on a pole the holes will be barely noticeable.
This is a truly stunning Parisian style window treatment that is in remarkable condition for its age. The beautiful curtains will not only be a feature themselves, but will provide privacy and diffuse light beautifully into the room.
