This antique French quilt has a pretty vine leaf print on each side. Interestingly, the border is a darker burgundy colour and the centre of the quilt is a dark pink but in the same pattern of fabric. The reverse side also has a panel of yellow fabric in the centre (perhaps to repair some wear) . This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the mid 19th century and is in excellent condition. This quilt is in 'as found' condition but it is clean and fresh.
It would look very decorative used on the bed, on a table, or folded on the back of a sofa as a display item.
The quilt measures 1.50m wide x 1.8m long (59 inches x 71inches)
