This vintage French Basque cotton tablecloth is a soft cream with red, turqouise and brown stripes. It is in excellent condition (probably never used), and has been freshly laundered. It has the initials MV embroidered in the centre.
The French Basque Country, or Northern Basque Country is a region lying on the west of the French department of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques on the border with Spain and famous for its woven striped cloth.
The tablecloth measures 1.4m wide x 2.05m long (55 inches x 81inches). The monogram measures 6cm high and 6.5cm across.
