This beautiful antique French quilt has an iridescent silk on one side and a very fine linen on the reverse side. This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the early 20th century and is in very good condition for its age. The front side is faded across the middle, but the sheen of the quilt means it is not very obvious. This quilt is in 'as found' condition but it is clean and fresh. The colour on the front side is a soft pinky brown and the fabric which is silk has a soft sheen. The last two photos show you the reverse side of the quilt.
It would still look very decorative used on a table, or folded on the back of a sofa as a display item or document piece.
The quilt measures 1.34m wide x 1.65m long (53 inches x 65inches)
