This colourful kantha quilt has been handmade in India from strips of up-cycled fabrics. Kantha quilts are made from layers of fabric sewn together with a tiny running stitch known as a kantha stitch.
Use as a throw, bed cover, picnic blanket or table cloth. They can also be used in your interior design projects to make curtains, blinds and cushions and to cover headboards, footstools or chairs.
The first five photos show one side of the quilt and the last three photos show the reverse side. Vintage kanthas are a handmade product, the pattern and stitching can be irregular. This quilt has seen a lot of wear and you can see where the top layer of sari fabric has worn away to show the fabric underneath. It gives the quilt a rather faded air, but it is still warm and has a lovely soft feel to it.
Size: 1.44m wide x 2.04m long (W60in x L82in). This quilt will fit a single bed or go across a double bed as a throw. This smaller size also looks great folded over the back of a sofa.
Cotton. Machine wash 30C. All our quilts are freshly laundered in the UK and are ready to use.
