An antique French hemp bed sheet or chanvre sheet (the French translation). The colour is a soft white and has the initials AE embroidered in one corner in red cross stitch.
It measures 2m wide x 2.56m long. (79inches wide x 101inches long).
The sheet has a good weight to it, is in very good condition, no wear but one small mark.
Use as a bed cover or tablecloth or to make a summery curtain or cushions.
This fabric is also suitable for dyeing and upholstery.
This rustic fabric was woven on a narrow loom and the sheet consists of 2 long pieces of fabric that have been joined together down the centre with a tiny hand stitch.
To fit a single bed or a double bed 4ft 6inches.
