I’m often asked how to use antique & vintage textiles without a room feeling overdone or looking like a museum. In reality, don’t think about them as “features”, they’re just part of my home, used in the same way as anything else.
I also find that the more colour and pattern you add, then the less you need to worry about whether it all goes together.
So what if your rug is already a little threadbare - that's my favourite sort of rug or a cushion is a little faded. You have found a unique item that makes you happy.
For me, decorating with antique and vintage textiles isn't about creating a look. It's about using things that have a story behind them and that get better the more they’re used.
