Antique French Quilt Cotton Pique Pink Stripes

This antique French quilt has a pretty pink and cream stripe on each side.This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the early 20th century. The quilt is entirely hand stitched except for the outside edge which has been machine stitched (which makes me think it has perhaps been repurposed from a quilted skirt). The quilt has wool batting. 

This beautiful quilt measures 1.50m wide x 1.64m long (59 inches x 65inches). It will go across the bottom of a single bed. It could also be used on a sofa, as a throw or a as a decorative wall hanging. There is one area of damage and one mark, see the last two photos.  I am very happy to patch the damaged area for you, just leave me a note at the checkout.
