Large Hungarian Red & Black Bedcover Or Curtain

This vintage cotton bedcover was hand-woven on a narrow loom in an intricate design and comes from the south of Hungary near the Croatian border. Three pieces of fabric have been stitched together to create a wider piece. The end of the fabric has a woven design in red and black with a cotton fringe at the end.

This piece would originally have been used as a bedcover or as a curtain, but could also be used to make a blind or fold across the back of a sofa.

The fabric is in excellent condition, is hard wearing and looks as if it has never been used. There are two small marks on the top section, see the last two photos, but they are barely noticeable.

Size: 1.36m wide (54inches ) x 2.63m long (104inches).

The red and black decorative section measures 1.36m wide (54inches) x 1.41m long (56inches)
