This antique French quilt has a very pretty Toile de Jouy design on one side and a plain white cotton on the reverse side. This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the mid 19th century, and is in excellent condition on the front side but the reverse shows wear and a few tiny marks.
This quilt is in 'as found' condition but it is clean and fresh.
It would still look very decorative used on a table, or folded on the back of a sofa or use as a wall hanging perhaps behind a bed.
The quilt measures 1.48m wide x 1.72m long (58inches x 68inches)
