This antique French quilt has a very pretty paisley print on one side in muted mustard yellow, blue and pink tones and an equally gorgeous boteh block print on the reverse side. This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from 1840 and has been beautifully quilted.
t is in very good condition except along one edge, which shows wear. This could easily be patched.
The quilt measures 1.55m wide x 1.70m long (61inches x 67inches)
This quilt has been laundered.
It would look very decorative used on a table, or folded on the back of a sofa or use as a wall hanging perhaps behind a bed.
