This antique French blouse is handmade from a fine white cotton lawn. Sections of embroidered detail have been added by hand and the tiny pleats are all hand stitched. The shape indicates that it was perhaps a maternity top with easy to open buttons for nursing a baby. It could be worn now as a light floaty summer jacket.
It is in excellent condition, probably never worn.
Size: The measurement between the underarms is 50cms so 100cms front and back (39 inches). The length from the back of the neck to the hem is 64cms (25 inches).
Care instructions: machine wash 30C, line dry.
