Antique French Quilt Large

This antique French quilt has very pretty fabrics on both sides.  The darker red and brown side is in the best condition, there are two small patches where I have made some repairs.  The other side with the black and cream floral pattern has more patches, the fabric is sound but I have added patches over some marks that did not come out when the the quilt was washed. The creamy colour on  this side has a rather tea stained look about it anyway, so the patches aren’t too evident.  

Warm with beautiful fabric on each side.This country style handmade French quilt or 'boutis' dates from the 1850's.

The quilt measures 2.6m wide x 2.5m long (98 inches x 102inches).

It will hang down well on a king size bed/US Queen/5ft/160cm and will also go on a superking/6ft bed.
