Reserved - but do get in touch if of interest. This pair of antique French curtains are made from fine cotton lawn, embroidered with crewel work - known in France as 'un rideau de Cornelys'. These curtains date from the 1870's. The scalloped edge runs down each edge of each curtain and along the bottom of the curtain. The top of the curtain has been has been folded back on itself to make it shorter and tape has been added for hanging.
These curtains are in good condition. There are several small holes, repairs and some patches. By the time the curtain is loosely gathered on a pole the damaged areas will be barely noticeable. The curtains have also been shortened at the hem, so could be made longer if required or shorten them to remove the folded section.
This is a truly stunning Parisian style window treatment, not in perfect condition but it looks like it has been rather loved and repaired and re-used.
There are 2 curtains and each curtain measures 1.44m wide (61 inches) and 3 metres long (118 inches).
