This vintage blanket comes from Moldova and was woven on a narrow loom from hemp and wool in bold colours. Three narrow pieces of fabric have stitched together to create this wider piece.
The blanket would originally have been used as a bed cover, but could be used as a wall hanging, a sofa throw and it could be used to upholster a headboard or a large footstool. It is in excellent condition. The blanket is reversible and the same on each side.
It measures 1.34m wide (53inches ) x 2m long (79inches). It will fit a single bed and will go lengthways across a 4ft6 bed/double/140cm. It would also look lovely on a sofa.
