Transylvanian Vintage Embroidered Raspberry Red Cushion 25

This vintage hand embroidered cushion comes from Transylvania and is a traditional design from that area. The design is embroidered on a rustic linen fabric in a raspberry red cotton thread, the cushion closes with vintage buttons.  The cushion is in good condition though there is a mark on the top (see the third photo) and some slight fading.

The cushion measures 51cm (20inches) x36cm (14 inches).  

Care instructions: hand wash cold

This style of embroidery is known as Irasos or Hungarian written embroidery, a folk style that originated in Transylvania in the 1700s and is still practised today in Hungary.
