Antique French Quilt Cotton Pique With Tulips & Primroses

This antique French quilt has a pretty tulip and primrose design on one side and a brushed cotton plain fabric on the reverse side. This country style French quilt or 'piqué' dates from the early 20th century. The quilt is entirely hand stitched and has thick wool batting. The printed side has no marks or wear and there are just a few small areas of wear and some tiny marks on the plain reverse side, overall the quilt is in excellent condition for its age. The last three photos show the reverse side which is actually a deep red and not as bright as the photos (it is hard to photograph solid red as the camera tends to make it brighter).

This beautiful quilt measures 1.80m wide x 1.95m long (71 inches x 77inches). It will fit a single bed and a 4ft6 double bed. It could also be used on a sofa, as a throw or a as a decorative wall hanging.

Cotton with wool filling.

This quilt comes as found, I have not washed it. However, it looks clean and smells fresh.

Gentle machine wash or dry clean.
